Tallow is a rendered form of Cattle/Beef or Sheep Suet (specific fat around the kidney).

At Naturekissed, we only use highest quality, grass-fed pasture raised Beef & Sheep Suet from the Durham family farms we trust. We also render the tallow using low heat wet rendering/triple filtration process to get rid of any impurities or smell. This is all done in-house at our Whitby Studio.

We don’t deodorize our Tallow!

1. Source of the Animal: The diet and living conditions of the animals can greatly influence the quality of the tallow. Grass-fed, pasture-raised animals produce tallow that is richer in nutrients, including omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins A, D, E, and K, compared to animals raised on grain-based diets or in confined environments.

2. Rendering Process: How tallow is rendered also matters. Traditional, slow-rendered tallow tends to preserve more of the nutrients and beneficial properties compared to high-heat commercial processes, which may degrade some of the beneficial fats and vitamins.

3. Purity: Some tallow may be mixed with other oils or additives in commercial products, which can affect its natural properties and effectiveness. Pure, unrefined tallow is typically better for skin, especially in natural skincare products, as it closely resembles the composition of human skin fats and is highly nourishing.

Despite being a form of fat, Tallow is non-comedogenic for most people, meaning it doesn’t clog pores.

Properly rendered tallow has a very mild smell. We triple filter our Tallow that ensures that any impurities or smell is removed without hampering the nutritional value of tallow.

Also, we either infuse our Tallow with Vanilla beans or essential oils, giving a very mild pleasant scent to our tallow creams.

We have both tallow creams and tallow soaps without essential oils that make them excellent choice during pregnancy and is safe for use on kids and babies.

With no essential oils, they provide a mild and fragrance-free skincare experience, making them versatile for various needs.

Using the unscented creams & soaps during pregnancy is generally considered safe, but it's always wise to consult with your healthcare provider before introducing new products.

After cleansing your face with our gentle & moisturising Tallow Soaps, take a small amount of the tallow cream, the size of a pea or two, rub it in your hands to warm it up, then apply it to your face, neck, or body.

Please scoop with clean, dry hands. Avoid getting water into the jar. Store in a cool, dark, dry place away from heat & sunlight. Refrigeration not required. The product is stable for 9 months.
